Evening Song

Trifecta writing challenge

www.trifectawritingchallenge.com

Write 33 words about a personal fear.  Each age has its own fear. I've been blessed to live as long as I have. My fear - not being able to take care of myself.

Leaves are brittle
Cooler winds blow
Tassels of sage grass glittering as they float in the sun
Wild daisy a fluff of seed.
 Gloriies and drama
Lost in the quiet darkness of winter.

  1. This is an imperfect analogy. Every winter has been spent with the knowledge that spring and summer would be here. The idea of a winter, without warm weather to look forward to, is truly frightening.

    1. Depends. About, the second week of January, everything is dormant and then slowly the plants reemerge, which is the rebirth of the seasons cycle.
I'm comparing the cycle to a lifetime. Fall flowers have been brilliant this year. But the days will get shorter and plants will ease into dormancy. I feel the aging process.

    1. I never liked teaching environmental science. We knew the science and it falls on deaf ears. Nuclear winter is indeed a fearsome possibility.

I used to think I wouldn't mind being taken care of. Now I know how much I'd mind.

Your thoughts.

Look out A to Z, I'll be back.

A to Z theme reveal. Well this theme is pretty weak. It is Dogs I have loved, fairy tales, myths, cats birds and what grows in my yard...  ...
