Macon Georgia history

Bibb Mill Community House, Macon Georgia

Old Mill House - A Boss would live in one like this

Mill houses, these are duplexes on Taylor Avenue in Macon Georgia
Walking Stick Insect on Humingbird feeder - and yes he or she is going to eat the insects or birds who happen on this feeder. I dumped him or her in the woods behind my house.

  1. That first house is gigantic, be a pain in the arse to keep clean.

    1. It would be the devil to clean. It has not been used in 40 to 50 years. Where the vine has grown up on the side, it is probably rotten beyond belief. You never let plants lean against a house or it will rot down here. I imagine some hot dog stand chain will tear it down and put up shop there one day. Progress, neglect history until it is beyond repair.

  2. Hi Ann,

Sorry it took so long to get here and live one of my um, eagerly anticipated comments. However, I'm Macon progress. Thanks for the photos and sharing a bit about Macon, Georgia. That Walking Stick insect isn't something I see over here in lil' ol' England.

    I'm outta' here.....

    Gary :)

  3. Like the stick insect. Can he really eat a hummingbird? I love looking at those old houses but don't really want to live in one.

    1. I decided to look it up. They are plant eaters. I have been knocking them off in a bag and dumping them in the woods for nothing. I guess I will just have to let one hang around one day to discover what they are up to.
I love old houses too. However, I know better than live in one. They are drafty.

Your thoughts.

Look out A to Z, I'll be back.

A to Z theme reveal. Well this theme is pretty weak. It is Dogs I have loved, fairy tales, myths, cats birds and what grows in my yard...  ...
