The Doglady's 30 Odd Question Blogfest

30 ODD QUESTIONS #BlogFest THE DOGLADY'S DEN

This week's blog is in response to Debbie the Doglady's 30 Odd Question's Blogfest.

What did you want to be when you were a kid?

I really had no dreams. I wanted to have an education and get a job that would pay me well.  In elementary school I wanted my hair to grow a little redder so I could play on the All-American Redhead Basketball Team. Being a ballerina was the other consideration.

Which “Friends” character do you relate to the most?
I never watched the television show.

Do you like your name?  Yes

Are you messy or neat? Messy. Unfortunately.

How tall are you?

5'9" What no weight! I've got 138 on my driver's license.

How tall were you when you were 10?

Maybe 4'8", I remember I was one of the three tallest girls in sixth grade. The other two girls stopped growing and I continued. I was one of the tallest people male or female in my high school graduating class.

What is your guilty pleasure?

Driving back roads and dirt roads.

What are you saving money for right now? Nothing.

How many Pringles can you eat at once?
Probably the whole can. But I would stop at a fourth or third.

Tea or coffee?  Coffee

Are you an introvert or an extrovert? Introvert

What will be your Halloween costume this year?

None, Halloween is fun but right up there with cat videos. I love laughing or looking at people's costumes. But, no I'm not that keen about Halloween.

Sweet or salty? Sweet.

Favorite social media?

Blogger. I enjoy reading other blogs which leads me to googling what I have never really heard of before.

Who is the last person you kissed?

My mother. My mother has a very protective chihuahua. So I always announce in her room that I am kissing mama. She has to hurry to my mother and do the kissing.

What is your favorite breakfast? Scrambled eggs

When is your birthday? May 13

When did you start your blog? December 2012

What is your opinion on the Kardashians? Boring

How would you describe your style?

Getting older, not giving a damn but pretending I do. I'm not really that bad. I just have to remind myself to not be so outspoken.

What color is your hair? A lot of salt with a wee bit of pepper left.

What color socks are you wearing? No socks.

What is your dream job?  traveler.

Dogs or cats? Can't choose. I love them both.

What makes you weird? I don't like waste.

Celebrity crush?

A million years ago, Sean Connery. I also loved that man who played Professor Snape on Harry Potter.

Opinion on cigarettes?

Terrible habit no one should start.

That said, I am a former smoker. I think I quit because I was so disgusted with the habit. Now I understand why former smokers detest the habit so much. It takes that to quit cold turkey.

The night before I quit I though about the fact I may be one of those gross old women you see smoking. The next morning, I just did not smoke. It was iffy a few times about my quitting. The big crossroads was when I could remind myself I no longer had a smoker's cough.

Do you have children? No, I would have liked to have had children though.

Two favorite boy names? Stephen, David

Favorite girl name? Elise

  1. Loved reading this, and can relate to rather a lot of your answers..
Most of the bloggers I know are introverts (me included). The blogosphere seems to be a safe place for us.

    1. Extroverts are too busy talking to go online to read. Well that would be my theory. But true about the blogosphere, a lot of like minds are here. With a cool if something is different, I'll look that up and read about it. Thanks for dropping by Elephant's Child.

  2. Fun questions but I'm to lazy to answer them!
I did enjoy reading your answers ;)

    1. Thank you Jan. I enjoyed the break from having to think of a good topic. Take care.

  3. Thanks for joining the blogfest, Ann. ☺ I enjoyed reading your answers. Interesting to learn there was such a thing as an all redheaded basketball team. Congratulations on quitting smoking! Something we have in common. Outspokenness is a quality most of us acquire as we get older.

    1. Thanks for creating the blogfest Debbie. I'm having a little trouble commenting. My internet has been getting "wonky" which is not a good sign.

    2. It was my pleasure, Ann. Those things are always fun. Nobody likes "wonky" internet. Hope it improves for you. The commenting issue didn't stem from my website, did it? If that's the case, please let me know, so I can try and fix it. Thanks!

    3. My internet gets wonky when it rains a lot here. I have several muscadine vines I need to cut back that are part of the problem. I just have not wanted to cut them.

  4. Hi Ann - yes I can relate to some of those ... and good for you for quitting smoking - just so glad I never started. I'm definitely a salty lady! Fun to read ... cheers Hilary

    1. You certainly don't feel that bright about smoking once you are hooked. I like that phrase "salty lady". Thanks for dropping by Hilary.

  5. Elise is a pretty name.

I don't wear socks unless I'm going out. Otherwise, it's barefoot all the way.

    1. Barefoot as a yard dog was my modus operandi. Then I got older. My feet can't take going barefoot in the house anymore.

  6. What? Try to stop the outspoken-ness? Bah, who needs that? The cat is already too old for that crap. No stopping here haha You liked Hans Gruber? He fell from a building you know.

    1. I had to look up Hans Gruber. I know, that is a cultural wow. But really, Lethal weapon, how many chicks would watch that flick. But I heard Alan Rickman played an outstanding villain.

  7. Congratulations on quitting smoking! Well done! Also belated happy birthday!
I'm with you, Sean Connery is definitely on top of my list, too!
I started blogging in 2012 as well. Must have been a good year!

  8. Alan Rickman played Professor Snape in Harry Potter. I loved him too and he did such a great job in the role. I was sad when he passed away last year but remember there being such an outpouring of love from his previous co-stars. He was a generous, kind person by all accounts. WeekendsInMaine

    1. I should have looked up his name. After all, I am in love with him.

Unfortunately, the world lost Alan Rickman. He was a great actor.

  11. Hi Ann - lovely to read all your answers - and you're right about it being easier than writing a blog post! I really enjoyed writing my 30 answers - and finding a few pics to break it all up. Nice to meet you :)

    1. It does make a quick blog. Good thing I'm not famous. I post whatever and would have to think a little deeper otherwise.

  13. Ann, this was great to read—and so, so you :) I've joined the 30 Odd Questions hop, too, and if you get a chance to read my post you'll notice there's several points we have in common (which, honestly, does not surprise me one bit—you've felt like a kind of soul mate, if that sort of thing is even possible without ever meeting in person, ever since we connected last year).

How could I have forgotten about Sean Connery?!?! Unforgivable. What was I thinking?

Super fun to read, Ann. Happy Monday!

  14. Aww! Your mom’s chihuahua is so cute. I am visualizing your interaction with your mom and the lil furry pet’s reaction. 😃
I love the salt and pepper hair look and I cant wait to have that.
This is such a lovely and fun way to know you, Ann. Have a great weekend.

And Sean Connery is definitely plus!

  17. How nice to find another person on this blogfest who actually linked up. I am finding folks answering questions, but not on the list. Yes, I admit I had a teensy crush on Alan Rickman too.

  18. Interesting that you quit smoking cold turkey like you did and now detest it. Surely something made it seem appealing when you started?

I'm so jealous of your height. I'm pretty sure I was average up until high school. Now I'm just short. It has it's advantages, but there are some days when I just wish I was even the tiniest bit taller.

    With Love,
    Mandy
