Georgia is best known for peanuts. The fertilized flower grows to the ground and the seed develops in the ground. |

I have not developed an appreciation for boiled peanuts. You don't see them much in Virginia, which is also known for peanuts.
ReplyDelete~Visiting from AtoZ
A lot of roadside boiled peanuts have sat in the brine too long and taste like the hull and a lot of salt. The secret to good boiled peanuts is to cook them on low in salty water and allow them to soak in the brine on low until the nuts acquire some salt. Then pour off the brine and rinse the nuts. Like everything, they are best fresh but taste pretty good from the refrigerator or freezer.
DeleteHowever, there are some things we never get the taste for. For me, it is catfish. I tried catfish. I did not like it. A friend told me I had got bad catfish because there was nothing better than catfish. I got catfish from a restaurant where 95% of the people were eating catfish. I don't like catfish. lol
Cool pics! I'm a fan of pecans more than peanuts.
ReplyDeleteI love both, but I eat more peanuts in the form of peanut butter.
DeleteI love pecans and peanuts. Nuts are good for you.
ReplyDeleteNuts are good for you. I am diabetic and have changed my eating habits. One thing I discovered about some foods is that they do not run your blood sugar up in addition to not making you gain weight. Nuts are high on that list. Everyone is different so I don't like to say it is true for everyone; but, the less processed food is, the easier it is on my diabetes.
DeleteI have never seen a pecan tree or a peanut plant. Where I live we do have walnuts, hazelnuts, and almonds, though.
