That song is driving me crazy.

My tour of hell yesterday was not painful. We only went to one store. The new tradition of eating a Chick Fil A sandwich before we go in the store not only saves me from cooking dinner but takes a bite out of the shopping. Except for two packs of strawberries, my mother did not purchase a lot of what we cannot possibly eat. That was my job.

My sister had an appointment with the eye doctor. Riding into town, I was bee bopping to a Tom T. Hall tune on Willie's Roadhouse. I love Sirius radio. Then all of a sudden, the DJ starts talking and he keeps talking and then he says, "If you want to hear my opinion, It was like turn the channel please.  And this is why with all the politics, you really don't want to put your opinion on Facebook. Opinions can be very very very borrrrrinnnnnng. Like a bolt of lightning, I got the message.

I've been reading "Story Grid" by Shawn Coyne. It has been interesting; but, I haven't got past the part of the sales pitch. What is it writing books. Why do they persist in spending the first part of the book about why you need to take them serious. Why else would I be reading the dang book.

I've also been reading some cozy mysteries by Sheila Hudson.

My favorite radio station on Sirius is Willie's Roadhouse. I would not listen to country music with my dad as a teenager. Now I love that music. I remember dad liking Tom T. Hall. Man what a long list of songs and ballads he sang. This is the one that played yesterday. It has a jolly sound.

Tonight I go to a Marty Stuart performance. I've seen him before and he is a great showman.

This Tom T. Hall song was released in 1972. As the Bible says, "There is nothing new under the sun." I like the King James version of the Bible. The old language is what I grew up reading and still enjoy.

Ecclesiastes 1:9King James Version

The thing that hath been, it is that which shall be; and that which is done is that which shall be done: and there is no new thing under the sun.

  1. Gotta love when all want to give their opinion. Sometimes best to keep ones mouth shut. Change the channel and away you go.

    1. I'm learning to keep my thoughts to myself. Foot in mouth disease is difficult but not deadly. Believe me, my sisters make me change the channel. They can't stand my cowboy music.

  2. Sometimes I wake up with a song going through my head, and often lasts through the day. I will check out a Hudson mystery, need something different to take camping.

    1. After singing it to myself later that evening: I realised I had released an ear worm. Sorry Mateys. But in my defense, I am an elementary teacher at heart who taught high school.

  4. I haven't heard of Tom T. Hall. I'll have to ask my hubby (the musician LOL) if he has. He probably has and will probably tell me several facts about him. I listened to a bit of the clip. He had a nice voice.

I truly agree with what Solomon said in Ecclesiastes. There is nothing new under the sun. We keep repeating ourselves throughout history thinking we will change things and we rarely ever do.

    1. I looked up Tom T. Hall. I think he was slightly before your time. His last big hit was about 1972 and I was 16 at the time which would have made you about 11. My dad loved his ballads and comical songs. I think I like the radio program probably from nostalgia. My sisters are much younger and ask me to change the channel.

Had Sirius XM. Played the same stuff over and over on the rock stations. Now I just play my phone in the car and listen to what I want to.

    1. For my sister's favorite station, I have noticed replay of early material. I've noticed it on mine too. However, I have several stations I listen to. It's nice to not have so many commercials. But their own self promotion commercials are pesty.

  6. Tom T. could hold your attention with anything! I like real country music. Most of this mess now is actually pop music or rapper wanna be's.

  7. I don't care for shopping either. Especially if I end up spending more on things you can't even eat; laundry soap, etc. But good tunes on the radio is always a plus. On long roadtrips I always liked to hear a little about the towns we were passing through. Announcements like "It's 3:15 here in Tulsa," gave me an idea how far we'd gone and how much further we had to go. Radio stations rarely do that anymore and Sirius and the like could be from anywhere. Good thing for GPS ;-)

  8. I enjoy Sirius radio especially when I'm travelling. When it's time for my subscription to expire I always call to cancel and they renew my much lower special rate. I wouldn't want to pay full price because I'm usually not in my car much. But when I'm driving through a place like West Texas then thankfully I have satellite radio--it's that or listen to CD's which would not be a bad thing for me to do either.

Your thoughts.

Look out A to Z, I'll be back.

A to Z theme reveal. Well this theme is pretty weak. It is Dogs I have loved, fairy tales, myths, cats birds and what grows in my yard...  ...
