Contrary to what you hear, few people posts signs like this. However, I enjoy seeing one.

    1. I'm always glad I don't know them. I remember my dad laughing at biblical admonitions written on rock that had been blasted out to make a road in the mountains.

    1. I liked this sign in the vein of Howard Finster and Paradise Garden. In this area, people are religious but this is considered going overboard. However, many churches have marquees with sometimes witty quotes as well as serious ones. Sometimes large churches will have professional billboards.

  3. I can tell that we are in the south. Saw many a church like this when I lived in Georgia. Tom The Backroads Traveller

    1. I've always liked the small rural churches. A lot of dedication and pride went into them. So many are disappearing.

    1. I have not traveled that much in Europe, but I do think of the huge cathedral when I think of Europe. This is a nice little blog hop. We will get to peep into one another's world.

  5. That sign sure gets your attention. Some time I would like to visit the southern states but I have not had an opportunity to do so. Quaint little church.

    1. You have to travel the backroads to see any region well. I have unrequited wonderlust too.

  6. That church has been there awhile, no doubt. Very simple, very plain but filled with God's love, I bet.

  7. Hate to say it but it looks like a village hall, the churchyard says different.

  8. The graveyards nestled up to the sides of those old churches do send a message, don't they?

  9. Hi Ann,

That rural church does have a certain ambience. It proves that a church doesn't have to have a spire to be a church. REPENT? No chance! :)
