Clean Comedians

Teaching school, children could provide a lot of comic relief. I always loved their stories. These are two of many funny moments I experienced as a teacher.

I told a student who was talking to a student behind him to turn around. He stood and mischievously turned his body around and sat down. I loved that boy and I guess he knew it. He was an 8th grader and I was a young teacher. One day, I was not thinking and he was sitting in his desk with his rear in the air. I smacked him on the bottom and told him to sit down. He and the entire class burst out laughing. Even at the time, I knew something like that could get me in trouble. No worries, his good nature would never complain. I later taught a younger sister who was equally lovely.

I taught chemistry at an Evening High School. I asked the class if they were hot. The temperature seemed very hot to me and I was turning the heat off. This boy in the back raises his hand and announces, "I'm hot too!" as in he was very attractive.

I saw a new comic on showtime name Alonzo Bodden and he was hilarious. I tried to get a clip of him on YouTube. But, each one had too many f-bombs to ignore. So we will stick to my dad's all-time favorite, Red Skeleton.

  1. Loved watching Red Skeleton! Lots of wonderful memories from my growing up years watching him.

Kids can say the cutest things sometimes and not realize what they might be saying!

    1. I think that is why I loved my career. It was the interaction with the children.

    1. I can understand time limits. This was the shortest one. Most were an entire hour. I have thought of making a list of what I want to do and watching Skelton is one.

    1. I do to. I think he must have been a loving person and that came out in his performances. I've seen movies he was in and he was quite nice looking as a young man.

  4. Not familiar with Red Skeleton but agree that children can say the most hilarious things. Instant mood lifters some of them.

    1. I think Skelton was an American and Canadian icon. But I know there was a Indian version. How could there not be with Bollywood. There are many joyful entertainers that make everyone feel good.

    1. Some of their antics were hilarious without meaning to be. Teachers are obnoxious when they get together. They love to talk shop.

  8. Makes you wonder what that boy went on to do with his life.
Clean comedians are hard to find these days.

    1. That is why I love it when old students come up and introduce themselves. It is so nice to know they turned out well. I imagine both of those boys did well. They both had great personalities. The second one had some ADD. School is a prep for life. Not a predictor of success. The biggest stumbling block children have in life is if they acquire an addiction.
You are not kidding about clean comedians. Being labeled a dirty comedian used to be the kiss of death. Now fitting the f-bomb into every sentence seems mandatory.

  9. The things they think and say are just two of the many reasons I adore little people ;-) Loved the Red Skelton clip! I almost did my theme on 'clean comedians' but (sadly) I couldn't compile a full list of them.
My grandson went from worrying about that shadow following him around to wondering what if the shadow ran off and never came back? "Teaching a child not to step on a caterpillar is as important to the child as it is to the caterpillar." ~ Bradley Millar

  10. Oh I love that the shadow ran off. I've seen children stories where the shadow spoke.

It's a crying shame the dearth of clean comics.

  12. You must have met many smart-ass kids during your teaching years. ☺ Thanks for sharing that Red Skelton clip. He was a comic legend. I also like Alonzo Bodden and have no issues with strong language. He won the third season of "Last Comic Standing" by keeping it clean on TV, though.

Your thoughts.

Look out A to Z, I'll be back.

A to Z theme reveal. Well this theme is pretty weak. It is Dogs I have loved, fairy tales, myths, cats birds and what grows in my yard...  ...
