I’m on an alligator hunt. Carefully stepping over logs and
through the brush, a chipmunk scurries out of sight. I think I feel a bite.

Whoa.. Who's hunting whom here?? That's a damn cool post Ann dear :)
ReplyDeleteFun and cryptic - love it
ReplyDeleteProbably not an alligator so! You'd definitely know if you were bitten by one of those!
ReplyDeleteAlligator Alley??? The last line was perfect, "I think I feel a bite." OUCH!
ReplyDeleteshivers!
ReplyDeleteWatch your children!
ReplyDeleteOh, my! I don't believe I'd want to go hunting for that :)
ReplyDeleteThe alligator just tasted ......
ReplyDeleteUhoh! That sounds dangerous.
ReplyDeleteAlligators like the taste of bug spray.
ReplyDeleteHopefully from a chipmunk and not a gator-though chipmunks can be aggressive. I know this from experience;) Fun story, Ann!
ReplyDeletehaha I love how he thinks he feels a bite, like it's something that has to be mulled over. "Hmmm, am I imagining those sharp teeth burying themselves into my shin?" :D
ReplyDeleteYikes! it could be the gator biting the edge of the bait pole--watched that at a zoo once. Terrifying even from 100s of feet away.
ReplyDeleteI wonder if, in a few minutes, he'll be thinking, Why hadn't it been the chipmunk instead of me? Then again, an alligator hunter has to know what he's doing, right? Let's hope so.
ReplyDeleteThank you for linking up!
Maybe Bobbie Bouchier from the Waterboy should do a gator safety video.
ReplyDeleteOuch! And a fun read.
ReplyDeleteHahaha, this totally made me think of the old video game Pitfall
ReplyDeleteClever chipmunk. ;RogRites)
ReplyDeleteHa! Fun. I think the chipmunk wins. :)
ReplyDeleteNot the feeling you want on an alligator hunt! Fun.
